At this year's Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO2021), Dominik Sobania and Franz Rothlauf presented in their paper "A generalizability measure for program synthesis with genetic programming" a measure for the generalizability of computer programs synthesized with genetic programming.
